Blackaby’s Experiencing God: Isaiah 66:2

Title: Trembling at God’s Word

S – Scripture: “But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, And who trembles at My word.” Isaiah 66:2

O – Observation: Blackaby shares a great devotion today that you can click on the link to read. In my observation of Isaiah 66:2 I am reminded that we are not to just read for the sake of reading and “getting through” with what is expected, but that we should go before the Father and earnestly seek Him (Mt 6:33).  How often do we “tremble, or are in awe, or fear” of God’s Words and direction? Today’s devotion is so spot on to what I was feeling before I even began to read that I had to do my SOAP on it.

A – Application: I will know that my God is an awesome God and that His word is to be reverenced. I’ll quote Blackaby as this is how I need to apply this scripture to my life and I can do no better than to share what he says, “Do you approach the reading of your Bible with a holy expectation, listening for the life-changing words that God has for you that day? Scripture says that, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Prov. 9:10). There are things you will see and hear out of your fear and reverence for God that you will not experience in any other way.”

P – Prayer: Father thank you for your Word. Thank you that you are Holy and full of wisdom and grace. I pray that I will always go to Your Word with a ‘Holy expectation’ to hear your ‘life changing words for the day.’ ###
