I highly recommend this book, it is an easy read and you won’t want to put it down. The story is intriguing and the references compelling. I look forward to reading the other books in The Coffee House Chronicles, including: “Did the resurrection happen…Really?” and “Who is Jesus…Really?”

As the publishers write, “these are short, easily devoured novellas aimed at answering prevalent spiritual questions of faith, and then answers these questions with truth through relationships and dialogue in each story.”

This is one of the Coffee House Chronicles of apologetics. This book is based on the story of Nick, a young Christian college man who attended church as a youngster and now that he is on his own in college is exposed to many questions he never learned in youth group or from the pulpit. Nick takes a religion class from a religious studies professor who is, “refuting everything Nick has learned… and brings up questions he never had before.”

  • Did Christianity borrow from pagan mythology?
  • Are there mistakes in the Bible?
  • When was the New Testament actually written?
  • What about the “other” gospels?
Nick comes to the point of no longer believing he ever had a real relationship with Christ. Until one day his professor’s assistant Jamal, begins to unravel the other side of the “evidence” that Nick’s professor so convincingly taught in class.
I’m going to look for the other two books in the Coffee House series and hope they are as captivating as this was. This is a book that I will reread and share with others. It’s a small compact size that is easy to bring along wherever you go.
