All Things Possible

With God All Things are Possible

Reading: Exodus 8-9:35, Matt 19:13-30, Psalm 24:1-10, Proverbs 6:1-5

S – Scripture:

Matt 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

O – Observation:

The story of the rich man wanting to know what he needed to do to enter the kingdom of heaven. Jesus told him that he would need to obey all the commandments. In addition to that, Jesus told the rich man to go and sell all his possessions and give to the poor so that his treasure would be in heaven. Jesus said that it would be easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. The disciples said, “who than can be save?” Mt 19:25 Jesus replied in v 26 that “with man this is impossible, but with God all thing are possible.”

A – Application:

In much of our lives we are lead to believe that if we work hard – we will and can achieve everything and anything we put our mind to.  Its’ interesting to know that we often don’t go to God until we feel that we have tried all we could and our last resort is God. Yet – all along, God wanted us to go to him first.

Here’s an excerpt from

(Mark 12:30 NKJV) ‘And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. The more we come to know God, the more we come to know love, because God is Love. The more realization and awareness we have of God’s love for us the more we will love Him. (1 John 4:19 NKJV) We love Him because He first loved us.

P – Prayer:

Father thank you for accepting me as I am. Mold me, and shape me, even when I needed to be a cracked clay pot, pounded back into dust of the earth, only to have you add water, mold and shape me again, and fire me in the kiln to build strength back into my character – Lord help me to endure all that comes my way. Help me to know and do your will. In Jesus name, amen.
